Pastor Will Shewey:

You are invited you to be our guest for worship at a storefront ministry? It’s called Shades of Grace, a United Methodist congregation. Shades of Grace is the newest “church start” in Holston Annual Conference. We are one of more than 60 United Methodists Congregations in the Kingsport Tennessee District. Our style may be much different than one might expect. We are in mission and partnership with the downtown homeless, transient and marginalized population and our gathering is quite the eclectic mix! We are inclusive in every way and will pledge to accept and love you at whatever status you are.

Our goal is to make disciples for Jesus Christ for transformation of the world. Our mission is to reach the last, least, lost and lonely (those left out and forgotten, too ). No one here is more or less important than another and all lives matter.

We serve a community meal on Sunday’s from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. Worship begins at 4:00 p.m. If you seek a non traditional worship experience, or simply enjoy fellowship, check it out! Music and singing includes open mic and testimonies are welcomed. Dress is casual in keeping with the downtown culture. Each first Sunday, we celebrate sacrament of holy communion.

The Clothing closet is open Sundays 3:00 -4:00 p.m. at “Shades 2 next door”.

Brown bag lunches are always available after worship for anyone needing a nightly meal.
