Pastor Will Shewey, Shades of Grace United Methodist Church
What a day at Shades of Grace!
Ministering to the least, last, lost, lonely and the forgotten!
Yet, in midst of all the dysfunction and perceived chaos, many accomplishments are to be celebrated this day.
Thanks to our partners in ministry, four more persons will be off the streets and in permanent housing. We deal with much sadness of heart and dismay of the soul daily. We intercede today for two more addicted souls who have committed to 12 month rehab.
As a safe sanctuary congregation we enforce zero tolerance and occasionally must face the difficult task of banning folk from our property. One such incident yesterday necessitated an arrest today and a ban placed upon someone. We remind folk daily that Shades of Grace is a church foremost and above all.
We tell them if you can’t do something in traditional ‘church’ settings, then don’t try to get by with it here. Grateful to our KPD department and all who help make God’s Living Room a safe and welcoming place for ALL . We are blessed in so many ways. Pastor Brad Brown, you would have had a field day!
