Let’s help others understand that which is really important in the end.

Today I offered a graveside prayer of committal for a friend. He had stopped by Shades two weeks ago today to enjoy a banana split. We talked an hour or more about life and what really matters in the end.

Tomorrow I will speak at the service for another child of God. He had called early one morning this past January and asked me to come visit. We fulfilled his desire for baptism that day , and offered prayers of confession and forgiveness. We talked about life, and that which really matters in the end.

These moments remind us that one day our names will be seen in the obituary column, and someone will remember us too. May we be wise stewards of the gift of time. We all have the exact same minutes each day.

Let’s help others understand that which is really important in the end.
