Acts 9:17

“Brother Saul”
He was a large and very intimidating man who seemed to have an axe to grind with the church (to the point of vandalizing it). That is why I wanted to avoid him the day that I saw him coming toward me on the sidewalk. I started to cross over to the other side, and then he did too. There was no getting out of it; we were going to meet on the street: Is this how a showdown felt in Dodge City? Where is Marshall Dillon when you need him? Then he reached for me with the hand of friendship. “Brother,” he said, “I have been saved, I’m a Christian now.”
“Then Ananias went to the house and entered it. Placing his hands on Saul, he said, ‘Brother Saul …” Acts 9:17
“Brother Saul,” those were the last words that Saul expected to hear. And how could they come from someone that only a few days ago he wanted to kill? “Brother Saul,” Ananias never expected to say those words to the man who had been “breathing threats against him.”
What had happened? Jesus had happened, and He happened to both of them, Saul and Ananias. This is how people get together in this world. There seems to be no shortage of answers to the world’s problems, but why aren’t they working? Nothing will work until THE ANSWER has us; and Christ is the answer.
ENEMIES CAN BECOME FAMILY WHEN JESUS HAS HIS WAY. Do we still believe that Jesus can change the hearts of people along the modern streets of today? Can we get beyond our stubborn ways to see the power of Christ to save the world? Everybody needs someone to step up and say, “Brother,” or “Sister.”
The song says, “I’m so glad to be a part of the Family of God. I’ve been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His blood, joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod, I’m so glad I’m a part of the Family of God.”
Grace and Peace, Brother Ray
