Ephesians 6:16-17 King James Version (KJV)

THOUGHT FOR TODAY, November 11, 2019

“16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”

“Lord, on this Veteran’s Day we thank you for every sacrifice that has been made for the good of our nation. Many soldiers with breaking heart and tearful eyes walked the saddened path away from home and loved ones to answer a call that took them to a life and places that they knew not.

They lifted prayers from lonely barracks and fearful battlefields. They held their memories close to heart; and scriptures thought forgotten suddenly were whispered again.

Bless the weary ones who have bought our freedom with broken bodies, minds and souls. We pray that those who paid for the hallowed principals of good and truth with their very lives will find rest and peace in your presence. May the tears of mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters, and all who care, be kept in your presence until they are changed into the joy of the Celestial Morning.

Today we worship and pray freely. We send our children to school to learn, laugh and play. We live! We live good lives because men and women are making the payments of freedom with sacrifices we can’t imagine. Bless them Lord, we humbly pray. Bless their going out, and their coming home; and all who love and wait for them today.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
