James 4:6-10

1. It evidences the wholeness of God’s Love. The Great Physician cares about us as no one ever could. (Romans 5:8)

2. It reflects sins accurate diagnosis. The Cross of Jesus Christ sees beyond masking symptoms to the exact cause of our human condition. (1 Peter 2:24)

3. It makes payment in our name. The Cross shows how God surgically removed our moral and legal indebtedness. (II Corinthians 5:21)

4. It is the most uncomplicated of doctor’s orders. The Cross shows on what basis we can accept our cure: Believe the Physician! (Romans 10:1-13)

5. It is an explanation of why anyone would reject such a prescription. Motivated by envy and willing to side with the politically powerful, the godless refuse to surrender self-rule and self-protection. (Matthew 27:18)

6. It reveals the solution to rising above life’s selfish motives. The Cross shows how to experience God’s Power, as Jesus Christ humbled Himself to trust the Father and to love others, even to the point of death; our Heavenly Father gave Christ all of the spiritual enablement He needed. (James 4:6-10)

7. It is the precedent for God’s future help. The Cross of Jesus Christ shows us why we can trust God for all of our needs.
