“RAY AMOS – Victorious Life – Luke 15:17”

Luke 15:17

“When he came to his senses…”

Life in Christ is often spoken of as a Victorious Life. Then why do so many not experience it that way? “Lord, there is a victorious life that I truly desire to achieve. I ask that you guide me step by step. ‘Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me and lead me in the everlasting way.” Amen

It is Monday; a good “Start Life Over Again” day, but where do we begin? The first words in the Bible are, “In the beginning God…” But do I need to keep running back to the starting line?

A danger today is not our unbelief, but belief that has faded away in the activity of what we call life. For some who have lived their lives going out and coming in through church doors; their skepticism has gone deeper than their beliefs.

When faith gets lost, we soon find ourselves beside the prodigal son in a pigpen wishing that we had never gotten into this mess, and asking, “What can I do? Is there any hope for me?”
Like the prodigal son, we must come back to our senses and remember the goodness of our Father. We too can say to him, “I have sinned against heaven and against you…”

That young man did not have to go back to the beginning to start over; he just had to go back home. I don’t know why I write this today, but friends perhaps many of us might need to arise from our state of mind and soul and return to the arms and love of God. Who can deny that we need the Lord, and that we need him now?

This is the day that the Lord has made, yes, we can rejoice and be glad in it!”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
