“The Whole Picture”

Water Lilies

Water Lilies

When we see a picture/painting . . . How much of the picture do we really see? In my water lily painting, there’s some fish swimming below with a tree beside the pond, chewed by a beaver. In the woods, a few feet away, is a bear cub with the mother not far away. In the tree branches many types of birds are singing melodiously. A child struggles to keep up with the parents on the hiking trail nearby . . . or the parents try to keep up with the child. The rangers are making their daily schedules while all life nearby have each their individual concerns.

When you look at this painting and you only see waterlilies, remember how much is going on which the eye cannot see. Day to day we encounter people, like us, who tend to some up people at first look or we listen to someone else, who have their own opinion/picture or thoughts of one another.

How much do we know? How much does anyone know about what goes on in a person’s world. John 3:17 “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

If we are to be like Jesus . . . we are to pray for all human needs, particularly those needs we don’t and “can’t” see. We can’t save anyone’s soul but Jesus can. Neither can we give them our Faith; but we can live by Jesus’ example, so others can see it.

We can show we care, even to people who might not look like they need us . . . We don’t have to see their whole picture or even strive to understand their whole picture in order . . . to encourage . . . by our belief, faith and love. God said that He can give them everlasting life because He sent His Son to Die for “all of us”.

John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
