Christ in the Alphabet – “L”

Good morning. This is Judy. Today we continue our Christ in the Alphabet devotion series by looking at the letter “L.”

In 2 Samuel 22:29, God’s Word says: “For Thou art my lamp, O Lord, and you will lighten my darkness.” Christ is our “Light” who dispels the darkness of fear. Christ was the creator of Life” and his life brings light to mankind. As witnesses, we are to be the reflector of the source of light, Jesus Christ.

In John 8:12, Jesus says: “I am the Light of the world.” As this light, He brings God’s presence, protection, and guidance to us. Is He the light of your world? In 2 Corinthians 3:17, it says, “…where the spirit of the Lord is, there is “Liberty.”

As we seek to serve and follow God, Jesus’ perfect truth frees or liberates us to be all that God wants us to be. In John 11:25, Jesus says, “I am the Resurrection and the “Life.” He is the creator of life and He can restore life. If we believe in Christ, we have the assurance and certainty that because He lives, we shall live also.

Christ, the “Lamb” was the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. Christ, the “Lion” is victorious because of what Christ the “Lamb” has already done. Christ is the “Living” water – the giver of eternal life. Christ is “Love.” If we live in love, we live in Christ and Christ lives in us. The greatest evidence of Christ’ love is found in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Let Us Pray

Jesus, our Lord of Lords, the giver of Life eternal, and everlasting love, be a Lamp unto our feet and a Light unto our path as we witness to others of your love and the gift of eternal life if we partake of your Living water. We love you as the Lord of Lords and the Lord of our life. In your name, we pray. AMEN
