Psalm 107:2
Let the redeemed of the LORD tell their story…” Psalm 107:2
God’s People may walk through the valley, but we do so because the Shepherd leads us that way. There may be dark shadows along the route, and the enemy’s presence may be lurking all around, but why should we worry; Jesus is there! Remember that there are also green pastures and still waters; and we can feast without fear.
I have followed the Good Shepherd from my childhood and there is not a single regret. The words of Edgar Peterson have often been the song in my heart:
“My way in life which Thou shalt choose, I know will be the best;
And through the trust I have in Thee, my heart will find its rest.
Though often I cannot understand the way Thou leadest me;
I question not Thy way, o Lord, but leave it all to Thee.”
“All things work together for the good to them who love God…” Paul did not speak those words as one who was trying to escape trouble and hardships. He believed that those things, and he had plenty of them, somehow fit into a greater plan that would be worth it all. He also knew that nothing would separate him from the Love of God.
Isn’t the plan for us to be like Jesus? When we are like him, we will have regained what was lost in Eden. We will once again be fully recreated in the image of God. “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2
Its time to finish the song:
“When in Thine image I shall stand, transformed to be like Thee;
What will it be with Thee to dwell through all eternity?”
