The Celebration of Ginny Taylor’s Life
That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
“1 Thessalonians 2:12”
We said goodbye to Virginia, a legend in her community where her husband, Bobby was coach for several generations. Virginia was known as the Singing Bus Driver for 23 years. Everyone in the area, and many who came to honor them from far away, knew them.
Virginia’s mission in life was loving her family and teaching the little ones, and adults alike, about Jesus. When her daughter asked the congregation, “How many people have received a card, Upper Room and/or how many people had enjoyed one or several of Virginia’s (Ginny’s) meals?” . . . Out of hundreds people, almost every hand went up.
There was her granddaughter, Contessa’s large portrait of her Grandmother standing nearby and a quilt, lovingly handmade by one of her daughters, draping Ginny’s casket.
Her Great Granddaughter, too young to realize the legacy that her Great Grandmother left her, had stooped down between the pews to get a sip of her drink. Later she will realize the legacy she has inherently received, from not only her Great Grandmother, but especially her loving Mom, Contessa and all her adoring family.
Nate often says that people preach their own funeral by the way they live by giving those whom they come in contact with, “A sense of prominence, sense of being and importance . . . A sense that they are Loved . . . And Ginny did this Faithfully as a living example, Mentor and Devotee of Jesus Christ.
If Ginny were alive she would still be singing to the kids:
