Rev. Ray and Pat Amos
Matthew 6:26
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”
“THE HEAVENLY FATHER FEEDS THEM”
We have been watching for our friends to show up, but I do not believe they will be back for a long time. There is a gospel song that says, “Seems that lately leaving is on my mind,” and I have been seeing it in our friends. Pat would fix their meal, and they would eat like they couldn’t get enough; like it was the last time they would eat here for a while.
I know where they are going. It is a long way to travel, and they have almost nothing to take with them. “God bless you friends, thank you for helping make our move to our new home a little more special.” I know that you will make it okay because, as William Bryant wrote, “There is a Power, whose care teaches thy way along that pathless coast.”
They are very good teachers of trust and faith; but they must be so tired. “All day thy wings have fanned, at that far height, the cold thin atmosphere; Yet stoop not, weary, to the welcome land, though the dark night is near.” We hope to see our little hummingbirds again when next summer is here.
The same God who taught us to look to the birds and understand how he cares for us, is the same God who knows what you are going through today.
“And soon that toil shall end,
Soon shalt thou find a summer home, and rest,
He, who, from zone to zone,
Guides through the boundless sky thy certain flight,
In the long way that I must trace alone,
Will lead my steps aright.”
“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” Matthew 6:26
