Be Strong and of Good Courage

“Joshua 1:5-9”

5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you.

6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may [b]prosper wherever you go.

8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you[c] shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
God’s foundational promise to Joshua, “I will be with thee, I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee,” (Verse 5), is likewise God’s commitment to all believers in the struggles of their–and of our– faith.

“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 20:28

“Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things such as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, THE LORD IS MY HELPER, AND I WILL NOT FEAR WHAT MAN SHALL DO UNTO ME.” Hebrews 13:5-6

When Christ was born, His holy give name was Immanuel, “God with us,” in Matthew 1:23.
“Wait on the Lord; and be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thy heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27:14

“Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.” Psalm 31:24

The Gift of His Peace

25 “These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.

26 But the [a]Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

28 You have heard Me say to you, ‘I am going away and coming back to you.’ If you loved Me, you would rejoice because [b]I said, ‘I am going to the Father,’ for My Father is greater than I.

29 “And now I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe.
