God’s Grace as Needed
“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought”
Isaiah 58:11
Am I able to completely abandon myself to the Good Shepherd’s care? Will I trust him when everything about the path we are on seems wrong? Even this requires grace.
Our Savior does not pile all the grace that we will need for life upon us at once. That would be too heavy of a load to carry. The lord gives grace as it is needed; and it is always grace suited for the need.
Jesus sent disciples out with the instructions to not burden themselves by carrying extra necessities. We all find the burden lighter when we learn His name is Jehovah Jireh (God will provide).
Child of God; when you can say with the Psalmist, ” My Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills,” you can know that his provisions are enough, and his storehouse has an abundant supply, and doors are open to his children. God alone can meet every need of the human heart.
If the grass is dry in the fields where he is walking with you, do not turn away from following your shepherd. He is leading you to where the pastures are green, the waters are still, and the table is spread. Today’s scripture is another promise that we can depend on. If your life seems a little parched these days, there is good news.
A beautiful Gospel Song of comfort:
“I feel the touch of hands so kind and tender.
They’re leading me in paths that I must trod.
I’ll have no fear when Jesus walks beside me
For I’m sheltered in the arms of God.
He walks with me,
And naught of earth shall harm me,
For I’m sheltered in the arms of God.
Yes, I’m sheltered in the arms of God.”
