LORD HEAR MY VOICE
“In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”
“Psalm 5:3”
Bright and Morning Star, please shine on us. I do not ask this so that our day will be favorable and easy, but that we might reflect the brightness of your love. We all have some thorn in our flesh, but whether it is removed or it remains, we know that your grace is sufficient for today’s need.
Remind us of mornings when the day was dreaded, but the evening proved you faithful through that long day. We raise our Ebenezer lest we forget that thus far the Lord has helped us, and you will not forget us today, or tomorrow, or ever.
I pray for daily bread, not because our cabinet is empty, but because the ingredients for life come from the storehouse above. We cannot afford to forget that before you give, you bless; and to whom much is given, much is expected. Let not our earthly soul be at ease when the lives of others are not.
Save us from sinful pride that shrouds the heart with haughtiness, or else we might forget that we were all made in your image, and You are Love. May your likeness be formed in us, and our lives become overflowing vessels of the wonderful grace of Jesus.
Good Master, who divides the night from the day, you have given us a new sunrise. Morning by morning new mercies we see; Great is your faithfulness.
And when that bright and cloudless morning comes, and the roll is called in the land that is fairer than day, may our shouts of praise be, “Lord by your mercy we are here!” This is my morning prayer. Amen.
“Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God’s recreation of the new day.”
Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
