“Ray Amos – Jeremiah 15:16”
From February 3rd, 2024

Rev. Ray and Pat Amos

“Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O LORD God of hosts.” Jeremiah 15:16

These words were part of Jeremiah’s prayer. His meditation reflected the difficult and frustrating, even painful, times he was going through. Suddenly during his “Lord I’m hurting” prayer, he speaks joyfully about his rediscovery of God’s Word.

“Your words were found.” They were not new words, but words that had been hidden or lost. (Pat and I are still discovering things that we packed in boxes when we moved. Some of them bring a new delight to us.)

Jeremiah devoured the words; they were comforting and a joy to the prophet’s heart. Many people return to the Bible during uncertain and difficult times. His Words are sweet to all who believe.

Jeremiah found God’s Word to be “Soul Food.” It is wholesome, nourishing and Savory. The Psalmist wrote, “O taste and see that the Lord is good.”

I want to encourage us to rediscover the Word of God. There are so many wonderful recipes for this Mana from Heaven. Follow the Lord to his banqueting table, where His banner over us is Love.

Blessed are the people who dine at the Lord’s Table for they shall say, “what a delightful meal.”

“Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more.
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
