“Ray Amos – Psalm 118:24”
From May 28th, 2024

Rev. Ray and Pat Amos

“In the midst of my confusion,
In the time of desperate need,
When I am thinking not too clearly,
A gentle voice does intercede.

‘Slow down, slow down, be still.
Be still and wait, on the Spirit of the Lord.
Slow down and hear His voice,
And know that He is God.”

One of the traits of Jesus was the steady pace of His life. It is not recorded that He ran anywhere. That even became a point of criticism for some who said to Him, “Lord, if you had been here…” The psalmist often prayed that the Lord would “make haste and come.” How many of us know that need? “Come quickly Lord Jesus!”

Jesus once said to some disciples, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always here.” We see in Him what life is like on God’s schedule.” There was always time enough to love and care about others. He took time to pray, to fellowship, to worship, and bless the children. There seemed to be no anxious spirit in His life.

Jesus taught us to live with the knowledge that there is a time for everything under the sun, and that God makes all things beautiful in its time. “One day at a time,” is how He said that we should live. How many of us have lost our today because we were stuck in yesterday, or worried about tomorrow?

Today is our gift from God. What we do with it will be our gift to Him. “This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
