“Ray Amos – Luke 1:78-79”
From June 5th, 2024

Rev. Ray and Pat Amos

“…encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25

“Approaching Day,” those words invoke different emotions in all of us. Some may feel like Job, who said, “the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me.” others are looking for the joy of the morning.

Whether the sunrise colors our joy, hastens our fear, or ignores our ho-hum; we cannot pull the covers back over our head when the Lord lifts them from the night and says, “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.”

It is true that many “approaching days” have come and gone. It is also true that when we arrived there in the morning, the Lord was the first to greet us.

“A new day will dawn on us from above because our God is loving and merciful. He will give light to those who live in the dark and in death’s shadow. He will guide us into the way of peace.” Luke 1:78-79

The Unending Day is coming when we shall live forever in the presence of God. Friends, we must faithfully finish our days on earth. Do not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. We must encourage one another to keep our eyes on Jesus, and to keep on keeping on; especially as we see the Day approaching.

“Help us to help each other, Lord,
each other’s cross to bear;
let each his friendly aid afford,
and feel another’s care.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
