Distracted driving is dangerous and illegal, yet the “It won’t happen to me” syndrome continues to wreck lives. The same can be true as we travel along the Way to Heaven, it is important to not become spiritually distracted drivers. Here are some driving trips from the Bible:
STEER STRAIGHT: “Be careful to obey all the law… do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.” Joshua 1:7
KEEP THE BATTERY CHARGED: “…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint” Isaiah 40:31
KEEP A FULL TANK OF FUEL: “…He awoke from his sleep and thought, ‘I’ll go out as before and shake myself free.” But he did not know that the LORD had left him.” Judges 16:20
DON’T BLOW YOUR OWN HORN TOO MUCH: “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others…” Matthew 6:2
Follow Heaven’s GPS, the BIBLE: “And a highway will be there; it will be called the Way of Holiness; it will be for those who walk on that Way…only the redeemed will walk there, and those the LORD has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.” Isaiah 35:8-10
“There’ll be no detours in heaven
No rough roads along the way
I’m using my Bible for a road map
My last stop is heaven some sweet day.”
Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
