Nate and I were sitting eating dinner together when he heard a noise coming from one of our air purifiers. He says, “Do you hear that?”
Even though we are maties, we hear things differently. When he was in the marines, he fired 155 mm, M109 Howitzers. There weren’t the ear protections then that there is now. So it makes his hearing very different. He can’t hear things that I can, and can hear low level noises that I can’t.
Our eyes are different and certainly thought processes. How we view each day is different.
We could fuss about these things and one could say that what one or the other hears, sees and thinks is wrong . . . But it makes us better together if we further appreciate our differences and embrace them for what they are.
When I go to my garden, no flower is the same . . . Nor did the vegetables or herbs grow the same.
I have heard several people on social media say, “If you don’t agree with me, I will defriend you.”
God never expected us to be clones of each other. Otherwise, it would be a rather boring world.
Yet, wars are fought over our differences. When in fact, no war is ever won by fighting . . . But always won through agreements (agreeing sometimes to disagree), compromises and compassion . . . Embracing our differences to build a new and better architecturally designed world and relationships.
Psalm 9:10
“And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.”
