MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN
If all professing Christians would read and heed the words of Paul, America would be great.
Paul wrote: “Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior” (Titus 3:1-6).
If we have received the washing of regeneration and are being renewed daily by the Holy Spirit, we will away: “anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator” (Col 3:8-10).
We cannot claim renewal by the Holy Spirit if we are spouting angry, malicious, slanderous, and obscene rants, whether orally or on social media.
