“Ray Amos – 11-5-2024 – Psalm 118:8”

Ezekiel 16-17

“Do not put your trust in mortals who cannot save.” (Psalm 146:3).
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in humans.” (Psalm 118:8)

It is election day. The negative tone of the campaign has been a dark cloud that eclipses our heart and mind to the good that is around us. Unkind and negative news seems to constantly hammer at our soul. Family and friends argue and divide. In the words of James 3:10, “My brothers and sisters, this should not be.”

Voting and judging are not the same thing. Jesus taught us that we can only cast stones if we can look through the window of a sinless heart. Today we can have our say at the polls, but judging should be done somewhere else. The Bible says that it is time for judgment to begin with God’s household. (1 Peter 4:17)

We will all face judgment some day and how we have treated one another will matter greatly. It’s something to think about.

Jesus cast His vote for us on Calvary’s Cross. The life we live will tell if He has our vote.

“I choose Jesus, I choose Jesus
Without a solitary doubt, I choose Jesus
Not for miracles, but for loving me
Not for Bethlehem, but for Calvary
Not for a day but for eternity, I choose Jesus.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
