David said, “To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd” (Psa 18:25-26, NIV).
God’s dealings with nations and individuals are not arbitrary but based on the conduct of each. We may not see the working out of this principle because God does not settle all accounts in September (harvest time), but we can be assured that we will reap what we sow after we sow, and more than we sow: “Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:7-9)
