“Ray Amos – Romans 1:16”

“I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation for everyone…” Romans 1:16

I have been a young preacher, now I am old. The same voice that called me then, is the same voice that sends me now. His orders have not changed. “We all have sinned, no sin is excusable, all sin is removable, Come to Jesus.”

Can you say with heartfelt confidence that you are saved and prepared to live with Christ throughout eternity? The Bible plainly tells us that we can know the answer to this question; but it does require that we believe the Scripture. “These things are written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.” 1 John 5:13

We must be willing to honestly admit and confess our sins before God. He already knows the truth about us, but it can be difficult for us to say, “I have sinned.”

When we tell it to Jesus with a broken and contrite heart, he is more than ready to forgive.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just, and will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteoisness” 1 John 1:9

Think about what Jesus has done to save us. He died on the cross to pay the price for our sins, not his, but for all the wrong that we have done. He cried out, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” I am forgiven because of that prayer, we all are if we will accept it and believe.

The Lord is not willing that anyone should perish. He has done what is necessary to save us, now it is up to each one of us to do our part. Eternal life is as close as our heart and our mouth. This is still the Gospel that we preach: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

“I’m free from the fear of tomorrow
I’m free from the guilt of the past
For I’ve traded my shackles for a glorious song
I’m free! Praise the Lord! Free at last!”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
