“Ray Amos – Philippians 3:14”
From February 11th, 2025

Rev. Ray and Pat Amos

“I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14

“When things go wrong; as they sometimes will. When the road you are trudging seems all uphill. Rest if you must, but don’t quit.”

Charles Wesley was on his way from Bristol to Newcastle when his horse threw him, and then fell on him. He wrote in his journal, “My companion thought I had a broken neck; but my leg only was bruised, and my hand sprained, and my head stunned – which spoiled my making hymns, or thinking at all.”

We all have bad days, it’s a part of life; but even bad days have a sunset. This is the morning of a new day.

As our life story is being written we know that a bad experience need not be a period at the end of the sentence. It can be a comma with the best yet to be written. The important thing is to not give up, or turn back because the road is rough. Charles Wesley got back on his horse and continued his journey, and kept writing hymns. Is it time for some of us to get back up, shake it off, and get going with life again?

Never give up on life’s battles and setbacks when they are good and noble. Author, William Simms wrote, “The conditions of conquest are always easy. We have but to toil awhile, endure a while, believe always, and never turn back.”

“There Is Joy In My Soul,
Since Jesus Took Control.
He Placed Within My Heart A Happy Song.
The Joy Bells Sweetly Ring,
While Of His Love I Sing.
Press On It Won’t Be Very Long.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
