“Ray Amos – John 20:28”
From April 23rd, 2025

Rev. Ray and Pat Amos

Thomas replied, “My Lord and my God.” John 20:28

“In my night of dark despair,
Jesus heard and answered prayer,
Now I’m walking free as air,
Hand in hand with Jesus.”

It does little good to get all excited about Easter Sunday, and then by the next Sunday live like He is still in the tomb.

The resurrection of Jesus compels us to look at the hands and feet of Jesus, and tell him what we see. Thomas saw more than nail prints; He saw his Lord and God.

It is not the absence of Christ that is causing so much distress in our lives, but rather, the absence of a solid and consistent faith. Unless we have settled in our hearts that the risen Lord is with us as we walk life’s daily path, we will never have peace in this life. The countenance of the two who walked the Emmaus Road changed from depression to great joy when they finally realized that they walked with God.

Once we are convinced that Christ is alive, and we truly know what a friend we have in Jesus, then we are able to face life with confidence.

“I’ve found a Friend, oh, such a Friend!
He loved me ere I knew Him;
He drew me with the cords of love,
And thus He bound me to Him.
And round my heart still closely twine
Those ties which naught can sever,
For I am His, and He is mine,
Forever and forever.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
