Romans 6:1-2

“What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may increase? Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer?”

God is ready to forgive and save all who call upon Him. It does not matter how many times we need it; He is always ready to give more grace. Paul knew what some would surely say, “If God loves to bestow grace on sinners, then let us give him plenty of opportunity to do so.”

We are familiar with the saying, “You can’t have your cake and eat it too.” That is spiritually true also. “But” someone might argue, “We all sin.” Yes, we do, but the day we yield our life to Christ is the day that sin is no longer our way of life.

The problem is never a lack of grace, but our wasting it. Grace offers opportunity to escape the destructive road that robs us of everything that brings peace and joy to our heart. There are countless stories of folks who want God to fix their trouble while refusing to let go of what is causing the problem.

I think of grace like a bucket coming down from the window of Heaven. It comes down to us from the hand of God bringing wonderful gifts for life; and it returns with our repentance, thanksgiving, praise, and worship. This constant cycle can be a beautiful way of daily life. There is no doubt that grace will come down on all of us. The question is, “What will we do with it? What will we return to God.

“Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe,
All who are longing to see His face
Will you this moment His grace receive?”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
