“Keep Alert” Is Good Advice for All Who Are on the Eoad to Heaven

“…looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…” Hebrews 12:2

The Lord told Joshua to, “be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe all the law… Do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may prosper wherever you go.”

Traveling on the Gospel Road requires us to keep our focus on Jesus. It is straight and narrow, with a sign that says, “One Way.” Like Joshua, we must not turn to the right or left. There are many temptations ready to lure travelers to a nearby exit. Beware, some exits do not have a return ramp.

I parked beside an old pick-up truck in the church parking lot. The driver was a senior citizen who had driven many of life’s miles. There was a paper sticking to the steering wheel that said in large letters, “Keep Alert.” I don’t know who put it there, but I feel certain that it was someone who loved the driver. There are several times that Jesus said the same thing to the disciples.

“Keep Alert” is good advice for all who are on the road to Heaven. The devil will do everything he can to get us off the road. Keep your eyes upon Jesus, He is the Way.

“Onward I go, rejoicing in His love.
I’m in the glory-land way.
Soon I shall see Him in that home above,
Oh, I’m in the glory-land way.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
