We Are More

As I watch the faces of people who are seeking God, and the illuminating moment of understanding an answer to their question . . . It’s my thought that we are more than who we are!

When we perceive our Maker as being our Creator . . . When we take that next step of seeking and discovering “Who He is” . . . And more steps . . . And even more . . . We become more than who we are.

King David had lots of gold, riches and ruled over a Kingdom which was all his . . . Or was it? Was that who he was? He had it all . . . Right? However, it was not these “things” which made him more . . . Father Abraham was the father to many, both men were responsible to many but . . . What made them more was their heart for the Lord and their discovering our God, the God of all Nations, He, Who is “All Knowing and bigger than themselves/ourselves” . . . makes them/us “more” . . . Stronger and more deliberate in decisions, and in faith.

When we say we are human with human short comings. It’s true. But the “Further Truth” is because we seek, embrace and have a heart for the Lord, and lean not to our own understanding . . . We are more . . . We are His and we are His Lamps . . . And we can be . . . “Illuminated”.

“Lean not unto thine own understanding” is a phrase from Proverbs 3:5 in the King James Version of the Bible, which encourages individuals to trust in the Lord completely rather than relying solely on their own wisdom or reasoning. This verse emphasizes the importance of finding out Who God is, about faith, and seeking God’s divine guidance in decision-making . . . so we can be “more” than ourselves, and especially “more” through and in our walk with the Lord.”
