When Your Friends and Enemies Join Forces
Solomon said, “An evil man sows strife; gossip separates the best of friends” (Prov 16:28, TLB). He also wrote, “When there is no wood, the fire goes out; when there is no one to spread gossip, arguing stops” (Proverbs 26:20, The Voice).
Mark Twain had this comment about gossip: “It takes your enemy and your friend, working together, to hurt you to the heart: the one to slander you and the other to get the news to you.”
