A Better World Begins With Me

“Righteousness lifts up a nation, but sin is a disgrace in any society” (Prov 14:34, ESV). We may be tempted to focus on the personal and political sins of the mighty—their adulteries, their massacres of truth with campaign ads, their reception of bribes, and these are certainly disgraceful.

That is the easy application—TOO EASY! Isaiah declared that the nation of Israel was sick from head to toe (1:5-6). Righteousness will not come to America by our electing this politician or that politician. Righteousness will come to America when it reigns in the hearts of the majority of the citizenry, whether they live in the $135 million, five-floor penthouse on the top floor of the Aman New York Hotel or in Section 8 Housing. A better America begins with me, and it begins today.
