I Groan for Help
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help?” Psalm 22:1
Advent Hope must not depend on expectations of God working by our timetable. He has made everything beautiful in His time.
“While praying to know what was next, the voice that I had come to love and trust was silent.” We all understand those words.
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help?” Psalm 22:1
While we are in the wilderness we are not alone. The song says, “Standing somewhere in the shadows you will find Jesus.” It is true, I saw him there.
When the water of our life dries to a trickle, the endless fountain springs up within. When we try to find the belief that we lost, we must not give up. Keep on believing like one who keeps reaching for the hand of God. When we cannot seem to touch him, his arms will reach us.
“Jesus himself prayed today’s scripture while he was on the cross. So, do not feel like your faith has failed, but believe in Him who you cannot see.”
“I thought I had to see and feel,
To prove that what I loved was really real.
A passion turned to ashes things I held to dust,
I found reality in simple trust.
My faith still holds on to the Christ of Calvary,
Oh blessed Rock of Ages cleft for me.
I gladly place my trust in things I can not see,
My faith still holds on to the Christ of Calvary.”
