Bible in Alphabet C
Good morning. This is Judy. Today let us continue our devotion series, Christ in the Alphabet, by looking at the letter “C.”
Christ is our “Creator.” Genesis 1:1 says: “In the beginning God Created the heavens and the earth…” God created a wonderful universe because He loves us. We will never know all the answers about how He created the world, but the Bible tells us that God did create everything. That fact alone gives worth and dignity to all people. We are God’s creation!
Christ is also our “Chain” breaker. Because of God’s amazing grace, our chains of sin are broken and we are set free. He is also our “Captain” and in “Control” of everything. Just as the captain of a ship is in control of his crew and would never abandon his ship in troubled waters, Christ, our Captain, will never abandon his Children even in the most violent storms of life.
He is always present and in Control. Christ is our “Counselor” – our advisor. And Christ is our “Cornerstone.” A cornerstone is the stone that unites two walls at the corner of a building and holds it together. Christ is the Chief Cornerstone of the church. Without Him, there would be no church because it could not stand. Jesus’ life and teachings are the church’s foundation, the most important part of the church, God’s people.
Let Us Pray
Lord, With you as our counselor, our comforter, our captain in control, and our cornerstone, we can be courageous and of good cheer. We can be confident, that because of your death cross at Calvary, we have the assurance of your companionship forever. Lord, be our cornerstone and unite us with you for eternity. In the name of Jesus, we pray. AMEN
