Christ in the Alphabet D
Good morning. This is Judy. Today let us continue our devotion series, Christ in the Alphabet, by looking at the letter “D.”
Christ is our “Daystar” from on high. When Christ returns He will shine in his full glory. Until that day, we have the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit to illuminate our way and to guide us as we seek the truth. Shine, Jesus, shine – shine on me!
Christ is knocking on the “Door” of your heart, wanting to gain entrance into your life. The “Door” cannot be broken into or opened from the outside. Rather, it has to be opened from the inside – deep within the heart. Have you opened the “Door” and invited Him in to live in your heart as Lord of your life?
Christ is also our “Defense.” In the sports world there is a phrase: The best offense is a good defense. Christ is our best “Defense.” He is our strength and shield. He will defend us from the vicious attacks of the enemy. We are to put on the full body armor of God as described in the book of Ephesians.
Christ is our “Deliverer.” God sometimes lets us be tested by temptation. But He has promised that He will never allow us to be tempted beyond our endurance. He will always provide a plan of deliverance.
Temptation itself is not a sin. When we give in and disobey God, it becomes a sin.
Let Us Pray
Lord, our Daystar from on high, shine on us through your Scriptures and the Holy Spirit. When you knock upon the “Door” of our heart, may we eagerly invite you to come in and dwell within us. Be our deliverer in times of trials and temptations.
You are our best defense in this game we call life. Guide and protect us in the name of Jesus. Lord, Please heal those suffering from this virus and from all other illnesses/diseases. Heal those recovering from surgery and also be with those facing surgery. May they find peace and comfort knowing that you are in control. Forgive us if our sins and shortcomings. In the sweetest name of Jesus we pray.
AMEN
