Christ in the Alphabet – “R”
Good morning. This is Judy with our Christ in the Alphabet devotion series. Today we will look at the letter “R.”
Christ is our “Redeemer.” To redeem means to buy back or save by paying a “Ransom.” Our redemption was paid by Jesus Christ in his death on the old “rugged” cross.
If we “repent” and accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be “rich” beyond all measure. We will “receive” GRACE – God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. Makes me feel like a millionaire. How about you? The center of our Christian Faith is that because Christ resurrected and was victorious over death, we, too, will one day be resurrected.
Christ has the capacity and power to “Restore, Renew, Refine, and Revive” us so that our “reflection” of his love will become clearer and clearer to those around us. Christ can “restore” our “relationship” with Him. Jer. 15:19 says: “iIf we repent, He will restore us so that we may serve Him.” Christ is our “refuge” in the face of total destruction.
He is our eternal “refuge” and can provide strength in any circumstance. The “Rock” upon which Jesus will build his church is Jesus Christ himself. There is a song that says, “On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.” Put your trust in Christ – the true foundation of your faith.
Let Us Pray
Jesus, beautiful “Rose” of Sharon, “Root” of Jessee, our “Redeemer” and so much more, we praise you and thank you for your love and “Righteousness.” Lord, as we suffer persecution here on earth, “remind” us that if we “remain” faithful to you, our “reward” will be great in Heaven as you let us enter in to your eternal kingdom.
Forgive us of all our iniquities and restore in us a right relationship with you. Let us “rejoice” in Christ, our Redeemer. In your name, we make our prayer.
AMEN
