Christ in the Alphabet – “Z”
Good morning. This is Judy. Today we will conclude our weekly Christ in the Alphabet Devotion series. These past 25 weeks have been very enjoyable for me and through studying and searching the Scriptures, I feel my relationship with Christ has grown to a new level.
All praise to the One who inspires me – Jesus Christ! He is everything to me – He is the A and the Z and everything in between. We started these devotions with A – the Alpha, or beginning. Now comes the last letter of the English Alphabet – the letter “Z.” As we allow the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts, Christ can and will re-ignite our “zeal” for God just as the spark of love can be rekindled in a marriage.
We, the church, are, after all, the Bride awaiting our Bridegroom, Jesus Christ. Christ is very passionate in his love and protection of his children. Christ is the King of “Zion” – Jerusalem, the city of the Great King. Because the temple was located in Jerusalem, the city was seen as the center of God’s presence in the world. Zion – Heaven, is pictured as the spiritual home where God will live among those who believe in Him.
There is a song that goes: “We’re marching to Zion, beautiful, beautiful Zion; we’re marching upward to Zion, the beautiful city of God.” What a great hymn of hope and anticipation! Oh, to sing praises to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in our heavenly home, Zion – the city of our Great King. What a day that will be! Make your reservation today – your ticket has already been paid in full!
Let Us Pray
Lord, Thank you for everything we have, who we are, and all we ever hope to be. You are our Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. You are the A and the Z and everything in between. We love you, worship and adore you, and lift your name on high.
Instill in us a zeal for you and help us to concentrate more on our spiritual life and not merely on things that affect us physically. Open our eyes, Lord, that we may see the wonderful things in your written Word that you alone can deliver. All this I ask in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the King of Zion.
AMEN
