“Our Basket Story”

She was sitting in a small chair, skin weathered from the sun, making and selling her baskets as we drove along the streets in one of Italy’s hilltop towns.
We couldn’t resist the urge to stop, admire and purchase one of her baskets. You can imagine her surprise when in addition, we wanted the one that she had just started.
People look at us (ministers, their wives, husbands, other christians) like we should have somehow had the Godly privilege of arriving, spiritually cleaned up and finished. We are judged when our faults are revealed.
Like this basket, we are unfinished, and in many journeys, still starting . . . God wants us exactly like that . . . Unfinished.
Hebrews 12:2
King James Bible “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
