“Plant Seeds and Sing a New Song”

One of the things that I liked, and was so impressive on our many trips to Germany were the walking, hiking and biking trails in the towns, valleys and mountains . . . Prolific . . . Like it was a prerequisite to human existence. Very happy that there has been a lot of attention to trails in East Tennessee, as well.

About 4-5 years ago, we were taking a hike when we went off the beaten path which, of course, is part of Nate’s and my natural tendencies. The grade kept getting steeper but I kept pushing upward . . . When I realized I couldn’t walk back down. Nate was below me. Always, the more experienced hiker, mountain climber, I wasn’t hesitant to ask him to come and help me down.

You can imagine my surprise when he couldn’t climb the grade to get me . . . That’s where I realized how bad his knees were getting. So, it wasn’t a pretty picture sliding on my you know where, trying to get back down the hill . . . so steep, I had to resist rolling.

As we grow older and have to “man” up or “woman” up to the mountain climbing physical things that we can’t do, we have becone more cognisant of our “spiritual” spirits. Our spirits are increasingly growing, walking, hiking and exploring trails where we’ve never been . . . And many are the paths throughout our life that we would never think to take.

With the Good Lord’s help, there’s many mountains that we can still climb, flowers on the hills and in the valleys to enjoy . . . And gardens ready for the many seeds we have to plant.

Psalm 33:3 – King James Version
“Sing unto him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.”
