At Wednesday night Bible Study, we are studying the women of the Bible.
The parallels between Sarah and Rebekah are remarkable.
Then there is Leah . . . At first glance, one might think her life was grievously stricken. She was not the love of Jacob’s life but she bore his children and delighted with each one.
She had chosen to be concent, and was content because she had a heart for the Lord and continually rejoiced in the Lord and praised Him.
Leah is a matriarch of her people and of Christ. She may not have been Jacob’s choice, but she was chosen by God to play a role in the birth of Savior of the world.
Leah chose to praise and be thankful for God’s role in her life. This level of praise left a legacy which brought us a Savior. We must rejoice, pray, and give thanks for who God is not based on our current circumstances.
