A Memory of Our Grandson’s Childhood

This morning as I was looking at the keys on the table, I remember Nate remarking that a person with a lot of keys is a person with a lot of responsibility.

Josh was three years old when he picked up on that. He decided that to carry his papa’s keys around, would make him very important. So he picked up the keys and strutted around like he was the king of all he surveys.

Nate realized that even as Josh “had” to have his keys, now, to display his importance – with the attention span of a three year old, that his keys would soon go missing. So Nate sought his collection of old keys and made Josh his very own set of keys. Josh carried them around strutting for days . . . He had the walk . . . You know the “walk” The walk of importance. These memories still bring on a smile.

Every day of our lives, we bring a smile to God’s face and every day He remembers something cute or especially adoring that we did. He knows we have our difficulties but he forgives and embraces the things in us that he loves. When he saw us fallen and failing, He sent His Son Jesus to give us the keys we would need to survive . . . And He Saves us. What a loving giving Father we all have.

Acts 4:12
“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
