Preparing Our Hearts for Easter

I Corinthians 1:23

“My Pastor Preaches relevant sermons!”
What’s “relevant?’ It is what’s appropriate to the occasion.

Preaching against sin, and preaching for the Blood of Jesus Christ, is very relevant, particularly at this time of preparation toward Holy Week and Easter Sunday!

I Corinthians 1:23 – “We preach Christ crucified.” We preach relevant religion!

Religion is a person trying to find God. Salvation is God finding people.

Religion satisfies the mind. Salvation satisfies the soul.

Religion puts on its best manners every Sunday or whenever people are around to notice. Salvation behaves itself even when no one sees, even in the dark.

Religion is a person working as hard as they can for God. Salvation is God working as hard as He can to find man. Religion causes a person to do good; salvation causes that same person to be and do good.

Religion will cause a person to be found in church; Salvation finds the worship in a person, every day!

Religion makes a person pretty respectable to others. Salvation makes us righteous before God under the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Religion depends on the “sunshines” of life. Salvation makes its own sunshine! When the sunshine’s of life goes behind a cloud, religion droops. Salvation never knows the difference!

Religion allows a person to compare themselves with others, settling down to a self-satisfied nest of cozy spiritual comfort. Salvation, on the other hand, makes a person constantly compare themselves with Jesus Christ, the Model Man.
