Titus 3:3-6

Our Desperate Situation

Baby Evelyn Boswell Tragedy
How we prayed for her safety! There was no thought of anything but her rescue. The desperate reality of the situation was that all means available, would he used to find this precious toddler…..alive! We submit her precious being into the hands of our Lord Who will now lovingly care for her.

We too, were in a desperate situation:
Read Ephesians 2:1-7

God sees the depth of our utter lostness and the darkness of our sin. The Lord God fully understands that we all deserve to bear the weight of our wrongs…but He sent Jesus none-the less!

Read Ephesians 2:1-3
The Apostle Paul rightly emphasized out actual condition without Jesus Christ. “Dead in trespasses and sins.” LOST! “Walked according to the course of this world.” BROKEN! “According to the prince of power of the air.” HOPELESS!
“children of Disobedience.” UNDESERVING!

But God did something so spectacular, so very much like the remarkable goodness of a Heavenly Father’s love for His children…..He dared to do what seemed to be the most unthinkable, for the most undeserving–which includes every last one of us!

God loves us! God Loves Us!! GOD LOVES US!!! For followers of Christ, the worth of ever person is deeply rooted in the Word of God. We are called to see human beings as image-bearers of God Himself–personal creations with eternal souls of eternal worth and eternal value! When we see that, we see ourselves as God see us. In the face of brokenness of the human condition, with its gut-wrenching tragedies and lostness, just as in another re-reading of

Ephesians 2:1-3
Almighty God, Who perfectly understands how woeful and wayward we are, nevertheless launched a rescue mission of global proportions. And He launched it at the greatest of costs. As the Apostle Paul continues:

Read Ephesians 4-7
Though Jesus Christ, our perfectly loving God lavishes upon us unexpected, extravagant mercy so that, covering us like a tidal wave of compassion, we receive life in Christ and a place in our Heavenly Father’s house. Why? A part of that answer is found in Ephesians 2:7, “That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Jesus Christ.”

All this is possible through a personal relationship with God in Christ!

Read Titus 3:3-6
Hymn writer Charles Gabriel said it so eloquently. I stand amazed! “I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus, the Nazarene, and wonder how he could love me, a sinner, condemned, unclean. How marvelous! How wonderful! And my song shall ever be: How marvelous, how wonderful is my Savior’s love for me.”
