Ecclesiastes 1:9

“That which has been is what will be,
That which is done is what will be done,
And there is nothing new under the sun.”

Trust God’s waiting!
GOD KNOWS WHAT TIME IT IS!

I seldom have many original thoughts, for the writer of Ecclesiastes is correct. “….and there is no new thing under the sun,” (1:9.)

But as I was recently calmly waiting at the car for my Bride, it occurred to me how much I have become a patient “waiter” these days. I wasn’t always that way. Impatience characterized my lifestyle. Now…………………..

Something I’m happy to admit is that I don’t hurry through important events my life. A “date day” with my Bride…..Sunday morning worship……daily devotional time and Bible Study. Or, ADVENT: Expectation, Waiting, waiting for God to do a new thing in my life and soul through my faith and trust in Jesus Christ!

Something like the late Methodist evangelist, Carlyle Marney would write, “We need to have our “wanter” fixed.” Perhaps we all need to have our “waiter” fixed. This is something learned in a hurry-up world.

The Apostle Paul’s writings under God’s Holy Spirit’s inspiration really are helpful: Philippians 4:11-13. Notice that this truth was learned! This is not A NATURAL HUMAN TENDENCY.

The Almighty God waits……He waits for people to see His glory……To admit that they are lost without Him…..To say YES to His Love…..To receive His forgiveness…..To turn away from sin, His waiting for our repentance.

What seems to us like the “slowness of God, is instead HIS PATIENCE in holy waiting, II Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

The Lord God is waiting…..waiting to have a relationship with those whom He loves. The Lord God is waiting……..waiting to have a deeper relationship with we who have accepted Christ as our Saviour.

God’s timing is absolutely perfect! God’s waiting is absolutely “on time.” Our waiting in hopeful expectation for Christ’s again coming once more—for the first time? —Prepares us for His moment of divine intervention we to fall in love again—for the first time, all over again—with Jesus Christ!

Trust God’s waiting!
