“I called out of my distress to the Lord, And He answered me. I cried for help from the depth of Sheol; you heard my voice.” Jonah 2:2

People who live in this part of the country know that there are places where the cell phone doesn’t work. Usually that is in the mountains and deep valleys. (The places we may need them most). It is also frustrating when a person can hear you speak, but you cannot hear that person.

Prayer reception can seem like that. Our praying can be hard and desperate in the mountains and valleys of life. Faith tells you that God is hearing, but you wish that you could hear God speak.

I suppose that no one went any deeper than Jonah, yet God heard that “bottom of the sea” prayer. Daniel was a long way from home, yet he regularly opened his window, looked toward the City of God, and prayed. There is no place that you can go where there is not a signal from God.

Do you need to talk with God today? Call Jeremiah 333 (33:3), “Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

How long has it been since you heard this old song? “Prayer bells of heaven oh how sweetly they ring, bearing a message unto Jesus our king; when you are burdened down with sorrows and care, ring on and on for God will answer your prayer.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray (1/16/2019)
