“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.” 2 Timothy 3:16
Christianity is constantly making its way through many voices and opinions in the pursuit of faithfulness. One of our greatest priorities should be to strengthen our skills of recognizing the voice of God. Jesus said that His sheep hear His voice, and that they will not follow another voice.
We have one book when it comes to all matters of our faith. There are many books in our lives, but only one has final authority in the way we are to live, and only one can direct us to Heaven. It is the only book that answers Pilate’s question, “What is truth?”.
Our conscience is like the clock on the wall: “It will guide us right if it is set right.” How do we live morally and spiritually when life is like a room full of clocks that are ticking and chiming out their opinions? There must be one that we know is always and completely right; If not life will soon become chaotic.
Today, let us pray along with John Wesley: “O give me that Book! At any price, give me the Book of God. I have it; here is knowledge enough for me. Let me be a Person of “One Book!”
“How firm a foundation, ye saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in His excellent word!
What more can He say than to you He hath said,
To you who for refuge to Jesus hath fled.”
Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
