Jesus Brings Light and Salvation
“You are the salt of the earth, the light of the world.” Matthew 5:13-14
This world has been greatly blessed because of Jesus and His Church. It’s light shines on both the just and the unjust.
What a wonderful way to bring light and salvation to a dark and decaying world. Jesus makes his followers to be salt and light. I know that had it not been for “salt and light people” in my life, I would have been lost in the rubble a long time ago.
People loving and caring for people, people living like Jesus, people sharing together in joyful praise; this is how God would keep the lights on, and the world seasoned with goodness.
Have you ever thought about what the world would have been like without Christian Salt? Think of all the churches that would be missing from the city streets, and wildwood. Many communities would not have had schools; a lot of outstanding universities would never have existed. The world of art would be missing masterpieces, and music that has blessed our souls would have never been heard. Think of the hospitals, and medical advancements that have come out of the influence of Christianity.
Consider the fellowship of the church in our life, what would we have missed if Jesus had not made believers to be salt and light?
“For us to be of use,
like standards that will shine
we need God’s power to offer grace
through symbol, act, and sign.
Salt shakers giving taste,
light bearers through the night,
world changers in the name of Christ
we bring God’s reign in sight.”
Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
