Experience the Power of the Resurrected Life
“I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection.” Philippians 3:10
There were two men lost in the sea. Rescuers quickly found one and brought him to safety, but it took a week of searching to rescue the other. In the end both men were saved, and neither saved himself. Salvation is like that. It comes easy and almost uneventful to some, yet it may be a long and hard ordeal to get another to the Cross.
The words in today’s Scripture came from one of the greatest Christians known. He was clearly not going to settle for the successful life that he had already lived. He wanted more for his hungry soul.
We do not all share the same Christian experience. Some Christians cannot seem to get enough of Jesus, while others are AWOL in their spirit. They accepted Christ at some point in time but have not opened a Bible or showed up for prayer in ages.
Others may be satisfied with a lag-behind Christianity. These are like a child that really does not want to walk with his parents, but neither wants them out of sight. After all, we do want the Lord to come running when we call for help.
The Apostle Paul did not just want to know about Jesus; he wanted to know Him personally. He would not settle for being an average Christian; he wanted to experience the power of the resurrected life of his Savior. God forbid that we become satisfied Christians while on this earth. Leave yesterday behind and press on for more of Christ today.
