“Ray Amos – 9-11-2024 – I Have a Savior”
From September 11th, 2024

Rev. Ray and Pat Amos

“I have a Savior, He’s pleading in glory,
A dear, loving Savior, though earth friends be few;
And now He is watching in tenderness o’er me;
And, oh, that my Savior were your Savior too.”

A man had come to his pastor’s office with a drinking problem that was destroying him and his family. He explained how it started and how many times he had tried to stop, but it had control of him. He had tried everything, nothing helped; what could he do?

The spiritually wise pastor read to him from Romans seven. ” I don’t do what I want to do. Instead, I do what I hate … Although I have the desire to do what is right, I don’t do it. I don’t do the good I want to do. Instead, I do the evil that I don’t want to do…. What a miserable person I am!”

The man interrupted the pastor with these words, “I don’t know who wrote that letter, but I can tell you that he is an alcoholic.” “No, I don’t think so,” the pastor said, “He is the Apostle Paul, he did not have the same problem, but the same need.”

We struggle helplessly with sin until we discover that there is only ONE ANSWER. Paul continued to write: “Who will rescue me from my dying body? I thank God that our Lord Jesus Christ rescues me!”

Whoever we are, whatever we have done, everything is made right when we give it to the Savior. There is no person who is out of the merciful reach of the arms of God, and no sin stain that cannot be washed away by the blood of God’s Lamb.

If you are tired of the sin that keeps you stumbling, why not give it to Jesus this very moment.

“When He has found you, tell others the story,
That my loving Savior is your Savior too;
Then pray that your Savior may bring them to glory,
And prayer will be answered—’twas answered for you!”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
