Luke 1:38

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.”

“BELIEVE”

Our Christian life will never exceed our belief. If at any point in the Bible we say, “I don’t believe this,” that is as far as we can walk on the path of Christian experience. I firmly believe that Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary.

Mary believed that also. When God’s plan was told to her, she asked, “How can this be since I am a virgin?” She had faith without limits. What she had been told by the angel Gabriel was impossible, but not for her God, all things are possible with Him. Mary said, “I am the Lord’s servant. May it be to me as you have spoken.”

Deeds of faith are done one step at a time. Believing in the virgin birth was only a beginner’s step for Mary. All other steps would take her higher, and higher; and they would require more and more of her soul. With each act of faith, she emptied herself, and was rewarded with more confidence in God.

How quickly time passes: From Gabriel’s announcement to a manger in Bethlehem, to a boy of twelve in the temple, and a wedding at Cana; the blessed Mother of Jesus would increase in faith. Much too soon she who held Heaven’s baby in her arms would weep on Calvary’s hill, and Simeon’s words would come true, “Because of this child, a sword will pierce your own soul.”

If we are to believe at the finish, then we must first believe at the beginning. Mary knew who He was, and how He came to the earth. She also knew that when He said, “I will be raised up on the third day,” that she would see Him again – because – “Nothing is impossible with God.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
