John 6:35
And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger…”
“THE GUILT OF SODOM”
I have been intrigued with the fact that before people used rubber erasers to rub out pencil marks, bread was used as an eraser. When I read this my first thoughts were about Communion Bread. Then I thought about the baby born in Bethlehem (House of Bread). In that manger lay the Eraser who would take away the sin of the world.
Jesus is the “Bread of Life.” We can be thankful that we tasted and found that the Lord is good. If you have not accepted God’s saving grace, then Jesus is calling you. Your hunger for forgiveness and peace of mind and heart will be satisfied.
The psalmist wrote that the Lord prepared a table for him in the presence of his enemies. He has done the same for us. There are powers in this dark world that work to keep us from the Bread of Life. Let them be frustrated while we feast at the Lord’s table in their presence. (They can do nothing about it.) There we taste the finest of wheat; with honey from the rock, we are satisfied.” (Psalm81:16)
We may have many sinful marks against us, but nothing that the Bread of Heaven cannot erase. The question and answer remain consistently the
same: “What can wash away my sin? Nothing, but the Blood of Jesus,”
“Fill my cup, Lord;
I lift it up Lord;
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul.
Bread of Heaven, feed me till I want no more.
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole.”
“And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger…” John 6:35
